Photographer Emiliano Granado captures acclaimed chef, humanitarian, and restaurateur Chef Jose Andrés for the cover of Outside Magazine’s Summer Issue. The feature story, written by Kevin Sintumuang, offers an intimate look at Andrés during one of the world’s most iconic pilgrimage journeys.

Titled Jose Andres and the Wisdom of the Walk, the story follows the world-renowned chef as he travels the Camino de Santiago on a Thursday morning in September, passing through the lush, rain-soaked landscapes of Galicia near the small town of Baamonde.

The Camino de Santiago is an ancient network of pilgrimage routes stretching more than 1,500 miles across Europe. It continues to draw travelers from around the globe, with more than half a million people completing the historic journey in 2025 alone, making it one of the busiest years in the route’s long history.
