- Director
Mark Leibowitz is a director and photographer known for his emotionally resonant, narrative-led approach to storytelling across film, television, editorial, and branded platforms.
With a background in photography and editorial commissions for Glamour, Condé Nast Traveler, New York Magazine, Wired, The Hollywood Reporter, and Vogue Australia, Mark brings a deeply human lens to every subject he captures. His early fashion and lifestyle work has evolved into a multidisciplinary directing practice, combining strong visual aesthetics with story craft for clients such as ADT, Amazon, Apple, Bank of America, Burrow, Cox Communications, Google, HBO, Instagram, Lyft, National Geographic, Netflix, Pinterest, Primark, Procter & Gamble, Tom Ford, Veuve Clicquot and Verizon.
Mark’s recent directing work reflects a pivot toward episodic and format-driven content that resonates far beyond traditional short-form campaigns. His forthcoming National Geographic series launches this August with two cinematic 10-minute episodes and supporting teaser content designed for social. He recently filmed over 20 episodes for People Magazine Investigates (HBOMax/ID), serving as both director of photography and interviewer—bringing emotional nuance to key scenes, from intimate interviews to sweeping drone footage.
In addition to commercial and editorial work, Mark is also the creator of The Practice—a self-produced YouTube series exploring men’s wellness. The series rolls out weekly with episodic content and supporting reels, offering a nimble model for scalable, purpose-led storytelling that aligns with today’s cross-platform demands.
Across every format, Mark blends a relaxed, California-born visual tone with journalistic curiosity and narrative clarity. Whether he’s building a short-form campaign, shooting an emotionally rich documentary series, or capturing high-end brand content, Mark’s work is grounded in real people, real issues, and stories that resonate. His studio is a certified B Corporation, and he actively supports causes including Communities in Schools, the Sundance Institute, and the California Coastal Commission.
