Francesca Allen documents the annual Donkey Derby that takes place in the Essex village of Theydon Bois. The Donkey Derby began in Victorian times and was revived in a modern setting in 1987. Organised by a village committee on behalf of the Scout & Guide charities, young people are encouraged to enter and ride the donkeys in a short race.
