Gentl and Hyers (Andrea Gentl and Martin Hyers) are a New York based photography team. They met while studying photography at the Parsons School of Design. They’ve been working together commercially for over twenty years, photographing still life, food, beauty, fashion and travel for a wide range of editorial and advertising clients.
In addition to their commercial work, Martin is currently involved in an ongoing personal project with fellow photographer William Mebane. Their work can be seen at hyersandmebane.com.
Andrea writes, styles and shoots for her blog Hungry Ghost Food and Travel. She started the blog in 2011 to share her love of food and travel with family and friends.
Hard light, strong shadows and travel inform every aspect of their work. They find constant inspiration in their journeys and bring their inspiration back to the studio.
They are never happier than when wandering in a far off land, camera in hand, exploring and connecting with people.
The duo recently launched This is the Wanderlust, a series of travel photography expeditions and culinary adventures. Visit thisisthewanderlust.com for details.
