Mark Leibowitz
Director, Photographer
Mark Leibowitz is a director and photographer whose work has been commissioned by advertisers, brands, film & television studios, publishers and other media outlets worldwide.
Mark began his career shooting editorial work for top publications including Glamour, Condé Nast Traveler, New York Magazine, Town & Country, Wired, The Hollywood Reporter and Vogue Australia. He later expanded into the world of advertising, producing imagery for iconic brands like Google, Instagram, Bank of America, Tom Ford, Proctor & Gamble and Verizon, among others.
Mark now fluidly works between the roles of photographer, cinematographer and director to create multi-platform content for a wide-range of clients. His commissions range from high-end visuals for fashion designers/ brands, powerful sports imagery, to social media campaigns of cultural movers and shakers. His work has been published in two limited-edition books shot for luxury brand Well Souled; the second of which, Well Souled Brasil, launched in early 2016 and was officially supported by Brazil’s national tourism board and Consul-General.
Mark’s “California style” and relaxed charm help him capture unexpected moments, while his deep interest in real people and real issues infuses the way he operates, both with and without a camera in-hand. These passions, along with his degree in Economics from Stanford, informed and influenced Mark when starting his company, a certified B Corporation that works hard to minimize its impact on the planet while creating positive change in the world. Additionally, he actively works for charitable organizations including Communities in Schools – a drop-out prevention organization that works with more than 1.2 million students across the United States – the Sundance Institute, KCRW and the California Coastal Commission. Mark believes in a smart way of doing business where people, community and natural resources are valued.
